Dre Defined is a singer, songwriter, music professional, entrepreneur, and retired Federal Governmentemployee whose life has always been rooted in ambition, creativity, and determination.
A self-starter from an early age, Dre has consistently created opportunities for herself. From joining theBrownies and becoming a majorette as a child—often arranging her own transportation—to performing intalent shows and becoming part of her high school drill team, she developed an early appreciation fordiscipline, independence, and the power of showing up.
At age 17, Dre began her career as a Federal Government employee, ultimately serving for 41 years beforeretiring in September 2025. Alongside her professional career, she continued pursuing her passion formusic and business. At 19, she began singing at local open mic nights and worked part-time at Olan MillsPhoto Studio, where she gained valuable marketing experience. By her early twenties, she had earned bothsecond- and first-place recognition in talent competitions.
Dre later expanded her education and business expertise, earning an Associate degree in InformationSystems, a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, an MBA in Business Management, and an MPA in PublicAdministration in Government.
Her music-industry experience includes serving as a Producer’s Assistant and later Business Manager forBlackFace Records Music Studio, where she worked for more than a decade. She has also managed artists,including Maiesha of Maiesha and the Hip Huggers, and served as band manager and part-owner of theHORU Music Experience Band for ten years.
As an artist, Dre Defined has released seven recordings—six of which she wrote herself—while also beingfeatured on and co-writing three additional projects. She has performed at clubs, parks, and festivals, andhas released three official music videos.
Today, through Leg’gacy Music featuring Dre Defined, she continues to share her voice, creativity, businessknowledge, and love of music with audiences who appreciate authenticity, soul, and a story built throughperseverance.
